Christie Pits 2

The second floor of our house is renovated as a one-bedroom rental unit, using a palette of simple finishing touches to add to the texture of an otherwise all-white space. A chalkboard wall by the kitchen is animated by messages from all those who stay over, and dark grey penny round tiles line the rounded corners of the shower to make it feel cozy.

The entrance feature wall is one sheet of maple-veneer plywood that disguises a hidden door to the bathroom. A wood floating plinth in the living space is used as both a shelf and a bench.

Throughout the unit, storage hidden in plain sight is built-in in the living room and bedroom, making the space comfortable and functional.
